## Profile

Master Researcher at Ericsson Research on agentic AI protocols: how LLM-based agents discover, authenticate and act across networks, APIs and devices. I take the discovery, identity and device-management problems I standardized for the IoT (CoRE, LwM2M) to the protocols now being written for agents at the IETF and the Agentic AI Foundation (MCP, A2A). 17 years turning protocol research into standards, patents and running code.

## Highlights

- **Ericsson Key Contributor Award 2025**, top 10% of performers in the Ericsson Group.
- **About 90 granted patents**, 26 invention disclosures since 2025, about half on agentic AI.
- **IETF CoRE Working Group co-chair since 2016**, 2 RFCs and 22 Internet-Drafts.
- **Co-author of OMA LwM2M**, on hundreds of millions of devices, referenced by 3GPP and GSMA.
- **Agent discovery at the IETF**, author of the Agent Directory specification and co-author, with Google, of the merged Agent Resource Discovery (ARD) specification.

## Experience

### Master Researcher, Agentic AI, Ericsson Research (2023 to Present)

- **Agent discovery.** Wrote the IETF [Agent Directory](https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-jimenez-agent-directory/) specification and the IETF [survey of agent discovery mechanisms](https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-jimenez-dawn-discovery-landscape/); shipped the implementation as [open source on Ericsson's GitHub](https://github.com/EricssonResearch/agent-directory). Since 2026 co-author, with Google, of the merged Agent Resource Discovery (ARD) specification for IETF 127 and of its Rust implementation.
- **Agent-ready network APIs.** Built the CAMARA reference sandbox for agent-ready network APIs (RFC 9727 API catalog, MCP, HTTP Events Query, 33/33 on the independent conformance client at the IETF 126 Hackathon), now the working reference in Ericsson's 6G exposure studies.
- **Vonage.** Agentic AI with Vonage (Ericsson's CPaaS business) since 2025: built the Vonage MCP server, co-authored the Ericsson blog post and Vonage developer guide on [network APIs for AI agents](https://www.ericsson.com/en/blog/2025/11/network-apis-for-ai-agents), co-invented agent identity bound to carrier-verified phone numbers; 2 joint demos with the Vonage CTO office selected for Ericsson Research Day 2027 (agentic trust, agent-ready APIs).
- **Agents on infrastructure.** Built agents that operate constrained IoT devices with no device-side changes ([IRTF draft](https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-jimenez-t2trg-iot-agent/)) and an MCP layer over Ericsson's transport automation controller; taught the approach at HKUST Guangzhou, Tampere University, University of Helsinki and UNICAMP (2026).
- **AI engineering.** LLM pipelines at [ietf.jaime.win](https://ietf.jaime.win) that track agentic AI drafts at the IETF and score drafts for AI-usage signals (1,473 scored, presented at IRTF RASPRG); automated IETF meeting reports ([arXiv 2410.13301](https://arxiv.org/abs/2410.13301)); agent tooling in daily use for research and for the invention pipeline.
- **Direction and standards.** Co-owner of Ericsson's Statement of Direction on agentic AI underlying technologies (AAIF, MCP, A2A, IETF) and author of the MCP, A2A and IETF protocol-stack analysis feeding Ericsson's position in the 3GPP CT3 6G AI-protocol studies. Participant in the Agentic AI Foundation Identity and Trust working group and the A2A Technical Steering Committee calls.

### Master Researcher, Web and IoT, Ericsson Research (2018 to 2022)

- Co-author of OMA LwM2M and IPSO Objects, OMA DMSO Working Group co-chair 2017-2024; Ericsson's contact for CoAP standardization at the IETF; co-author of the Industrial Internet Consortium Connectivity Framework.
- Led, with Ericsson's IPR department, the creation of Ericsson's non-3GPP device IPR portfolio over IETF and OMA standards.

### Senior Researcher and System Architect, IoT Accelerator, Ericsson Research (2008 to 2018)

- Architect and developer in the IoT Accelerator unit; IoT device management research. Authored RFC 7650 (CoAP usage for RELOAD). Low-power IoT demo at MWC 2015; FP7 COMMUNE and MAMMOTH projects.

## Standards and open source

- **IETF.** CoRE Working Group co-chair since 2016; author of RFC 7650, RFC 8477 and the CoAP publish-subscribe architecture ([draft-ietf-core-coap-pubsub](https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-core-coap-pubsub/)); IANA Expert Reviewer for the CoAP registries.
- **Open source.** [Agent Directory](https://github.com/EricssonResearch/agent-directory) (Ericsson Research, MIT), [CoAP publish-subscribe broker](https://github.com/jaimejim/aiocoap-pubsub-broker), [HTTP Events Query client](https://github.com/jaimejim/CAMARA-events-query-client). Live: [CAMARA agent sandbox](https://camara.jaime.win).
